Certificate Policy

This page explains what a Sharda IT Services learning certificate means, how it is issued, how to verify it, and what it does not mean. It is not a government, university, UGC, AICTE, NSDC, Skill India, or CSC accreditation policy.
What a Sharda certificate is
- A Sharda IT Services Certificate of Completion is issued by Sharda IT Services after a student meets the completion rules recorded in the learning platform for that course.
- It confirms that the named learner completed the stated Sharda learning program. It does not by itself represent a government license, academic degree, statutory qualification, or third-party accreditation unless that is expressly stated and independently verified.
- Certificates are identified as issued by Sharda IT Services — Digital Learning & Technology Platform. We do not print registration, accreditation, or approval numbers that this organisation has not actually obtained.
Completion requirements
- A certificate is not issued because a course was opened or because a download button was clicked.
- Default rule: every lesson in the course must be marked complete in the student’s LMS progress record, and the course must be certificate-eligible.
- Authorised administrators may add extra gates for a course: required quiz lessons complete, required assignments submitted, and/or a related skill exam passed. Those settings are stored on the course record.
- Quiz scores are only used as a gate when that data is actually stored. Today, completing a quiz lesson records lesson completion; it is not a government pass certificate.
Certificate ID
- Every issued certificate receives a unique public ID in the form SIT-CERT-YEAR-XXXXXXXX, with an optional -R1, -R2 suffix if it is reissued.
- The ID is not an internal database row id. It is stored with the certificate and is not edited in place.
Verification
- Each certificate has a public verification page at /certificate/verify/{certificateId}. A QR code on the PDF opens that URL.
- The verification page shows certificate ID, student name, course name, completion date, issue date, issuer, and status (Valid, Revoked, or Superseded).
- It does not show email, phone, address, password, internal user id, or other private profile fields.
- The verification page is the authoritative source for current status. A printed PDF is not proof that the credential is still valid.
Revocation and reissue
- An authorised administrator may revoke a certificate when that is legitimately necessary. Revoked records are kept. The verification page then shows Certificate Revoked.
- If a genuine mistake must be corrected (for example a misspelled name), the original record is not silently edited. A replacement ID is issued (suffix -R1, -R2, …) and the previous ID is marked superseded.
Limitations
- This credential is not a government certificate, university degree, UGC-approved certificate, AICTE-approved certificate, NSDC/Skill India certificate, CSC official certificate, professional license, or other third-party accredited certificate unless Sharda has actually obtained that authorisation and it is expressly stated.
- Employers and other institutions decide for themselves whether to recognise a Sharda learning credential.
